This is a real reindeer seen at Santa’s Workshop Village in Rovaniemi Finland.

The northern part of Finland probably has more reindeer than people. So it is not so unusual to see reindeers outside a hotel in Saariselka Finland.

Rovaniemi Finland is where Santa Claus is registered. So that city is keen on reindeer art such as these …

Then there are some people who like to make reindeers out of twigs …

World’s Northernmost McDonald’s

The McDonald’s in Rovaniemi, Finland in the Lapland province is the northern most McDonald’s in the world (as least as of this writing in 2012). It is close to the Arctic Circle at near 66 degrees latitude.

This is not a photograph. He drew and painted it in Photoshop and Illustrator. The closeup shows amazing and realistic details. It took about 2000 hours to create this piece consisting of over 15000 layers in about 50 files. Even after flattening the image, the file takes up 1.7 GB of disk space.
